Why is it that many Americans do not understand the concept of the left lane on a roadway being a "passing" lane only? Signs on highways explicitly say, "slower moving vehicles stay to the right." But do they? Oh no! They do just the opposite and drive in the left lane at the exact speed limit or below! And how about the guy who pulls into the left lane and stays abreast of the car next to him in the right lane for the next 20 miles, and causes traffic to back up behind him because no one can go around him! In Germany, when you are in the left lane and see flashing headlights a mile down the road behind you, you had better get over into the right lane or run the risk of being run over!!!
